Overview

The introduction of Uniswap V4 represents an important step in the evolution of the Uniswap Protocol. The introduction of hooks unlocks an entire new design space, empowering developers to engineer innovative functionalities that are seamlessly integrated with the Uniswap Protocol. To guarantee the sustained growth and success of the Uniswap Ecosystem, it is crucial to cultivate an engaged community of hook developers to build innovative solutions on top of Uniswap V4.

Problem

Hook Development is still at its infancy and currently lacks comprehensive best practices, illustrative examples, user stories for specific hook ideas, and essentials resources that can assist developers in starting building and experimenting with hooks.

Solution

To address these challenges, this RFP is seeks a developer team or individual developer to create a set of Proof-of-Concept (POC) hooks for key functionalities. In addition, we’re looking for a team to create supporting materials that can be leveraged by developers as a resource when beginning to build hooks. This work is intended to provide the guidance needed for Hook Development.

Scope

We are seeking a team (or individual) to create a set of material including:

• Development of 3 POC hooks covering interesting and widely recognized potential use cases.
  • Hook might address: Oracles, Volatility based dynamic fees, Limit order, Depositing out of range liquidity into yield bearing protocol, MEV reduction, LVR mitigation, Combo hook (Hook that uses 2 or more hook callbacks), Hook that distributes liquidity mining rewards
• POC will include a user story for each hook that illustrates how it is used by both a trader and LP through.
• Definition of hooks development templates, best practices and guidelines
• Supporting hook technical documentation
• Hook design walkthrough, highlighting design decisions, trade-offs and considerations made during development

Deliverables

As part of the project scoping, the team is expected to define the detailed list of deliverables for their proposal. Deliverables should include (but are not limited to):

• **3 POC hooks implementations (on GitHub)
• Hook technical documentation (on GitHub)
• Solution design walkthrough (blog posts, workshops or alternative solutions)
• User story for each hook
• Posts (one for each hook) on UniswapHooks.com forum to showcase all the resources used to create a hook
